Overview
Having a baby is the most joyous time in a woman's life. It can be. But for the over 600,000 women who suffer from a perinatal mood disorder, that joy turns into a nightmare. Burning The Village is a film about the darkest side of motherhood. It tells the story of three American families who suffered varying degrees of a postpartum mood disorder and raises awareness about the prevalence of what is often simply called postpartum depression. Burning the Village outlines warning signs and symptoms and strives to offer help to those suffering…all in the hopes of building stronger villages of support for new families in America.
