During the COVID-19 pandemic, the walls had ears. Like prisoners in solitary confinement communicating through Morse code, we have become more aware and sensible of our neighbors' presence through sound during quarantine. Fortunately, not all neighborly sounds come across as noise; sometimes the simple beauty of a passing melody can resonate deeply, even in the midst of deep isolation and despair.
