Overview

A primary school in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, China. Third-grader Mao Chengzhi, a cheerful and outgoing boy, is a "latchkey child," feeling lonely without his parents around. Sixth-grader Mao Zhengfa, a shy boy, lives with his disabled parents and younger sister in poverty. Despite their hardships, these children continue to look forward, and their heartfelt wish unexpectedly slips out.
