2024
Overview
After the coup d'état in Chile in 1973, three young supporters of the political project of the ousted president Salvador Allende are taken prisoner and brutally tortured by Pinochet's military government. In the Dawson Island concentration camp, a remote location in Chilean Patagonia, they began composing the cantata Nuestra Madre Grande. The composition of this musical piece accompanied them throughout their imprisonment until they were finally released from prison and went into exile in 1976.
